The September Issue
Shot over months inside Condé Nast, the film follows editor-in-chief Anna Wintour and creative director Grace Coddington as they build Vogue’s September 2007 issue—at 840 pages, the magazine’s largest to date at the time. Meetings, castings, and kill-or-keep layout debates chart the uneasy dance between commerce and creativity, while Coddington’s storyboards and on-set problem-solving steadily emerge as the movie’s emotional core. The supporting cast includes editors, photographers, and designers who pass through Wintour’s office and Coddington’s shoots, giving a rare, sustained look at how fashion images are argued into existence.
